World ATM Congress 2022
The ninth edition of World ATM Congress is excited to announce that the 2022 exhibition floor includes a record-breaking stand: “Europe for Aviation”.
Europe for Aviation is the result of a team made up of nine European aviation organisations working all together to showcase a record-breaking stand at World ATM Congress 2022, celebrated at IFEMA MADRID in Madrid, Spain, from 21st to 23rd of June.
During the course of these days, it will be shown how it is possible to reach solutions to future challenges related to aviation, such as innovation, capacity, and sustainability, through cooperation.
The integration of UAS at World ATM Congress, provided by Expodrónica and its sponsor UMILES Group, reinforces this unique event's influential and collaborative character.
With this objective in mind, the 399-square-meter stand includes these nine groups: the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA); the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA); the European Defence Agency (EDA); the European Organisation for Civil Aviation Equipment (EUROCAE); Eurocontrol; the European Commission; the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA); the SESAR Deployment Manager (SDM) and the SESAR Joint Undertaking (SJU).
CINEA -the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency, which started its activities in 2021, was created to implement parts of certain EU programmes and support the EU Green Deal. Its philosophy is sharing efficient knowledge and synergies by its variety of programmes and establishing strong partnerships with its stakeholders.
EASA -the European Union Aviation Safety Agency as a centerplace of the European Union’s strategy for aviation safety, since its establishment in 2002, it pursues the fostering and achievement of the highest common standards of safety and environmental protection in civil aviation so as to assure the safest possible flight.
EDA -the European Defence Agency, created after a Joint Action of the Council of Ministers in July 2004, supports the Member States and the Council to improve Europe’s capacities of defense in the crisis management and the sustainability of European Security and Defense Policy.
EUROCAE -the European Organisation for Civil Aviation Equipment was created in 1963 to standardise European civil aviation. EUROCAE is a European forum that addresses topics based on electronic equipment for air transport. This non-profit organization exclusively deals with aviation standardisation for either airborne or ground systems and equipment.
EUROCONTROL -a 1973-established-company devoted to offering its clients integrated solutions in different fields such as industrial security, environment, naval, acoustics, residues, telecommunications, civil engineering, construction, workplace hazard prevention, management systems, training or energetic efficiency.
The European Commission, since 1967, has been shaping the EU’s overall strategy, by proposing new EU laws and policies and monitoring their implementation as managing the EU budget. Furthermore, it plays a significant role by supporting international development and delivering aid.
EUSPA -the European Union Agency for the Space Programme, launched in 2021 as a result of the decision made by the EU to expand the scope of the former European GNSS (GSA) to include new responsibilities, EUSPA’s mission is to be the user-oriented operational Agency of the EU Space Programme, contributing to sustainable growth, security and safety of the European Union.
SDM -the SESAR (the Single European Sky ATM research) Deployment Manager was established in 2014 to be responsible for the Management Level of the SESAR deployment governance for the coordination of the implementation of the most essential SESAR operational improvements by the concept of Common Projects (extraction from European ATM Master Plan).
SJU -the SESAR Joint Undertaking, a public-private partnership (PPP) between the European Union (represented by the European Commission), Eurocontrol and industrial European ATM stakeholders founded in 2007 that is responsible for research and development needed for the modernisation of the European ATM system by coordinating all-important efforts in the EU.
