Egypt : Frequentis’ fastest end-to-end voice over IP (VoIP) communication system (VCS) will be installed at several important air traffic management facilities. VoIP and fully redundant VCS to seamlessly integrate with upcoming digital radio connections
Egypt enhances crucial airspace communication through FREQUENTIS technology.
National Air Navigation Services Company (NANSC) of Egypt will implement Frequentis’ VCS to enhance the country’s aviation infrastructure. Deployment will include the Cairo Air Navigation Center (CANC), Cairo tower, back up tower and approach system, and the emergency centre at Katamaya, New Cairo. Orascom Services, headquartered in Cairo, Egypt, will act as systems integrator.
“One of the key advantages of the new VCS is in its future-proof design, enabling seamless integration with upcoming IP radio connections,” says Josef Kutschi, Managing Director Frequentis Middle East. “We are pleased to be providing our market-leading VCS to support NANSC in its mission to shape the future of air navigation services in Egypt.”
This VCS deployment underscores NANSC’s ongoing trust in Frequentis’ capabilities, following the successful implementation of 19 voice communication control systems (VCCS) across Egypt in 2006. The project involves replacing the legacy Frequentis VCS for one of the towers and phasing out end-of-life systems from Schmid VCS at the CANC Center. Additionally, these systems facilitate unified operation and maintenance procedures across 19 facilities for seamless operation.
« Frequentis and Orascom Services have been partners, delivering cutting-edge solutions to NANSC for over 15 years. This contract is a testament to the trust NANSC places in our ability to provide high-quality products that meet both current and future requirements, with Frequentis technology confirming its capability and suitability for the needs of NANSC airspace, » says Amr El Kady, CEO of Orascom Services.
Frequentis VCS3020X is the fastest end-to-end voice over IP (VoIP) system for ATC and the only fully duplicated, parallel running voice communication system for dynamic Air Traffic Management (ATM) environments. Its robust and proven architecture brings unrivalled scalability and functionality, and its wide array of workload sharing, functionality and networking capabilities makes it a futureproof and safe VCS, trusted by customers worldwide and unambiguous number one in the ATC market.
