In addition to being an active Chamber member, Bye Aerospace was recognized for achieving significant milestones in 2019. In addition to doubling the number of employees, the company completed multiple flight tests of its proof-of-concept eFlyer 2 airplane, was featured in a Forbes article, and launched a collaboration with Oxis Energy to research the benefit of significantly increased energy density of the Oxis Lithium Sulfur battery technology.
“We are so grateful to the Aurora Chamber for this honor,” said George E. Bye, CEO of Bye Aerospace. “My thanks to Kevin Hougen, the Chamber staff and their members for continuing to recognize and provide services that help support the challenges faced by small businesses every day.”
“It’s an exciting time at Bye Aerospace,” said Kevin Hougen, CEO of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce. “Their growth and achievements are the results of hard work, a talented workforce and the vision of George Bye. We are so proud of Bye Aerospace and all of their amazing achievements in such a short period of time.”
The eFlyer family of aircraft, including the 2-seat eFlyer 2 and the 4-seat eFlyer 4, aims to be the first FAA-certified, practical, all-electric airplanes to serve the flight training and general aviation markets.
