Frequentis UK is set for a significant leadership change. Andy Madge, the current Managing Director, will retire on 1 July 2024. Mike Garrod will take over the reins of the UK and Ireland subsidiary, marking the end of Madge’s successful seven-year tenure.
A Smooth Handover Begins
Garrod joined Frequentis UK on 13 May, beginning a phased handover to ensure a seamless transition. This process will continue until the end of July, allowing Garrod to fully immerse himself in his new role.

Under Andy Madge’s leadership, Frequentis UK has flourished. The company expanded from a modest branch to a major player in the Frequentis Group. Madge steered the company through significant challenges like Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic, achieving remarkable market growth across civil and military air traffic control, public transport, public safety, and maritime sectors.
Meet Mike Garrod
Mike Garrod brings a wealth of experience to Frequentis UK. Before this, he led MKC Training as Managing Director since 2019. His career spans 16 years at QinetiQ, where he held leadership roles in engineering, programme management, and business development. His projects ranged from global navigation systems to electronic warfare, equipping him with the skills needed for his new role.
