Christmas and Winter Market at Munich Airport
On Friday, November 17, 2023, the beloved Christmas and Winter Market will open its doors at the Munich Airport Center (MAC) Forum, Europe’s largest covered outdoor space. Passengers and visitors are invited to come and enjoy the festively decorated market and get into the Christmas spirit every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. until December 31 (New Year’s Eve). The market will close at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
With more than 40 stalls offering various handicrafts, fashion, jewelry, food and drinks, the market is the ideal place to find Christmas gifts, enjoy a glass of mulled wine and sample some culinary delights.
The ice skating and curling rinks are open every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Skates can be rented at the rink. The curling rink can be booked in advance via the airport website.
The numerous free events are a particular highlight. They include regular ice discos, ice sculpting, Advent wreath making, puppet theater shows and, of course, a visit from Santa Claus. Various bands will perform on stage between 5 to 8 p.m. every day, offering up musical entertainment from the worlds of pop, rock, funk, soul, gospel, folk, jazz and country.
Want to see even more of the airport?
The popular winter light tours will return from November 17 to December 30. Lasting for 50 minutes, the tours give visitors the opportunity to look behind the scenes of the brightly lit airport. The light tours can be booked at: Airport Light Tours 2023 – Munich Airport (munich-airport.de). The meeting point for the tours is the Sportalm hut, which is also where any remaining tickets can be purchased on the day.
Visitors to the Christmas and Winter Market can use a special QR code to get three hours’ free parking at the P20 parking garage. The QR code can be found on the Christmas and Winter Market flyer and the airport website.
