The American flight training and aerobatic market is about to welcome a new competitor. From April 1 to 6, 2025, European aircraft manufacturer AURA AERO will officially introduce its latest two-seater training and aerobatic aircraft, INTEGRAL R, to the U.S. audience at the Sun ‘n Fun Aerospace Expo in Lakeland, Florida. Designed for efficiency, safety, and high performance, INTEGRAL R aims to meet the growing needs of flight schools and professional pilots.
A Strategic Market with Increasing Demand
With nearly 600 FAA-approved flight schools and over 75,000 pilots in training, the United States represents the world’s largest aviation training market. The demand for modern, cost-effective training aircraft is rising, driven by advancements in aviation technology and the growing need for fuel-efficient and aerobatic-capable planes. With FAA certification underway, INTEGRAL R and its family of aircraft offer a compelling alternative to traditional trainers.
A Renowned Ambassador for INTEGRAL R
To establish credibility in North America, AURA AERO has partnered with one of the most respected names in aerobatic aviation: Mike Goulian. The American aerobatic champion is now the official ambassador for INTEGRAL R in the U.S. He will be present at the AURA AERO booth on April 3 from 9:30 to 10:00 AM to share his insights and showcase the aircraft’s capabilities.
A Comprehensive Aircraft Range
INTEGRAL R is part of a broader family of aircraft, each tailored to different aviation needs:
- INTEGRAL R: A tailwheel-configured, aerobatic-ready model powered by a thermal engine. It has already received EASA certification, with FAA approval expected by the end of 2025.
- INTEGRAL S: A nosewheel variant designed for training and leisure, also featuring a thermal engine. EASA certification and first deliveries are expected in the second half of 2025.
- INTEGRAL E: A fully electric version of the R and S models, currently undergoing flight testing. Certification is projected for 2026.
Each model boasts advanced avionics that enable pilots to analyze flight data, benefit from predictive maintenance, and enhance safety. Additionally, INTEGRAL is the first aircraft in its category to be equipped with a whole-aircraft rescue parachute.
Equipped with Lycoming engines (thermal version) or Safran systems (electric version), and specifically designed for UPRT and VFR training, the INTEGRAL stands out as a highly reliable, efficient, and secure aircraft, ideal for both civilian and military applications.
Expanding into the U.S. Market
AURA AERO’s presence in the U.S. extends beyond the Sun ‘n Fun Expo. This summer, the company will open a new assembly and customer support facility at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Research Park in Florida. This strategic expansion will streamline aircraft deliveries, enhance customer service, and reinforce AURA AERO’s long-term commitment to the American market.
A New Era for Flight Training
With the launch of INTEGRAL R, AURA AERO is poised to revolutionize the flight training and aerobatic aviation industry. By combining innovation, performance, and safety, this aircraft could set a new standard in the North American market. As anticipation builds ahead of Sun ‘n Fun 2025, all eyes are on how INTEGRAL R will be received by pilots, flight schools, and aviation professionals.
